On March 10, 2023, Apparel Groups, one of the top Middle Eastern fashion and lifestyle conglomerates, conducted a placement workshop at London American City College. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for 25 students to interview for potential job opportunities with the group.
The placement workshop began with a pre-placement talk by Tasneem Chowdhury, Executive – Human Capital of Apparel Groups. She shared insights about the company’s culture, values, and the kind of employees they look for. She also discussed the growth prospects and career opportunities within the group. The talk was informative and inspiring, giving the students a clear understanding of what the company was looking for in its future employees.
Prof. Dr. Kaup Mohamed, Dean & MD of London American City College, made a speech to introduce the event and stressed the importance of such placement opportunities for students. He emphasized the importance of career development and the role of institutions in providing students with the right opportunities to achieve their career aspirations.
The placement exams took place in the boardroom after the pre-placement talk. Sanober Suhail – Human Resource Business Partner joined Tasneem Chowdhury Executive – Human Capital of Apparel Group and conducted the interviews. The students were excited and nervous but were also confident about their abilities and eager to showcase their talents to the interviewers.
The placement interviews were rigorous and comprehensive, testing the students’ skills, knowledge, and abilities. The interviewers were astounded by the quality and level of preparation displayed by the applicants. The students were questioned on a variety of topics, including their educational background, professional experience, and teamwork skills. The interviewers were looking for individuals who displayed a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for the fashion and lifestyle industry.
Under the direction and control of the Head Coordinator, Mr. Anil George, the London American City College Placement & Internship Committee organized the program. The committee members worked tirelessly to ensure that everything ran smoothly, from the registration of candidates to the final selection process.
The placement workshop was a great triumph all around. The students were appreciative of the chance to interview with such a prestigious business and were astounded by the interviewers’ professionalism. The interviewers themselves were taken aback by the caliber of the applicants and the effort they had put into their planning.
The chosen students will be assigned to different companies within the Apparel Group, providing them with the chance to acquire important experience and advance their skills. Everyone who was engaged won, and we anticipate seeing the students succeed in their new positions.
